for all of you following along at home, we start moving again tomorrow morning…

and it has been really good to take this chance to rest, reflect and contemplate exactly what we have achieved so far, and the significance of the next 4 weeks.

yes, sure it is going to be tougher than the first 3 weeks, the feet and legs already have about 800km in them, and the next 4 week period will add 1200km to that.

but last night I actually sat here, talking on the phone to a guy called Matt Napier. A guy who has cycled the Nullarbor AND walked it (while bouncing an AFL ball)

a conversation that would have had absolutely no place in my universe a short while ago, and yet which was so completely natural, normal and, importantly, reassuring.

we are confident that we’ve got the supplies right, the schedule has been mapped out, we know that the there will be 3 nights in a row this coming week where we are not hooked up to power, and also that after that it will only ever be 1 or 2 nights.

taking the first steps on the Eyre Highway will be amazing, there will be (and already is) a sense of “wow, this really is happening”. 3 people (Ben, Ols and me) about to commence a potentially life-changing phase of a life-changing adventure.

tough, rough at times, challenging, painful even – but full of experiences, memories and perfect moments. it will be the latter that are remembered when we reach Ceduna, along with the sense of accomplishment and achievement that will surely be felt.

yup, tomorrow morning it’s a case of Nullarbor, here we come! 🙂
