What a difference a day makes – this morning finds me back on the road, the same road, but with a completely different vibe. We have been less than 50km from the coast for a good while now, and today it’s still about 40km to my right – but right now, according to the watch, we are just 13m above sea level. To my left is a ridge/scarp/call it what you will, and to my right is flat, populated by trees and scrub. There’s a real sense of the land tapering down, from my left to right, towards the sea, towards the edge of Australia.
The kangaroo carnage is vastly reduced now too. A cool overcast morning with a light freshness that has been absent for a few days.
One thing for sure, this road takes you through an astounding array of landscapes and experiences, and I know there’s plenty more still to come!
