Winter has arrived, without a shadow of doubt. For the second day running, there’s been an intensely wintry feel to the morning; cold, winds that challenge and, today, a little rain.

The 5:30am start adds to the effect, the first 90 minutes being done in darkness. The current moor-like setting adds to the effect too.

At one point this morning I thought I heard running water. It was the wind, making the leaves and branches of a tree sing!

Other trees were jostled into life, and at times you would swear that a truck was coming, but with no headlights visible on either horizon, you knew it was just the trees making noise in the wind.

An incredible start to the day – 14k locked in with 10k up next!
